I was reading some news about the bat-shit lunatics and their antics in the old Lege, and then ran across this poop. My brain started screaming, “But they just passed a measure that would allow Higher Education students to carry guns to school”!
How do these fat-assed rednecks get these kinds of burrs up their butts? What kind of twisted childhood must they have experienced? Are their parents congenital idiots? Why am I even asking these questions… these creatures are from the bulk of the State that we here in the south-east swamps must secede from.

I think that when we pass the Act Of Succession for the Isle d’Orleans, we should follow in South Carolina’s mold and do a tactical nuclear strike on Baton Rouge, preferably when the Lege is in session. (Our last gift to the rednecks of Looziana before we split away)

KA, please don’t get me started on this shit. I’m a Veteran and have been horrified and very vocal on the topic of helping keep our kids safe. (different channels from this)
The same goes for care of the wounded and the emotional impact.
What the Hell has happened to Society? When I was a kid there were no guns or knives around… no need for freakin’ body armor. We were just kids at school.
I lay this shit at the feet of the Reaganites and their damned successors. The Religious Reich is also to blame.

(oh, get this, a ‘friend’ on myspace reported on a shooting on Bourbon St. at Chris Owens – but I have yet to see any news about it – heard anything? Anyhoo, I was glad that she was not hurt by a stray bullet and wondered aloud in typeface about where is NOPD? Why are they not more visible? Or are they more comfy and snuggly warm nailing felony parkers and busting up Second Lines…?
Get THIS, some douchemook replies to my comment and says people like me ‘disgust’ him, (and drags in that I don’t live there like I don’t have a right to care about New Orleans’ crime…) that NOPD ‘is’ on Bourbon St. (oooh, he actually has seen them busting drunks! Ohhhh!) and that they do a bang up great job… Oh, really? I sadly only know from reading the what-i-consider-very-reliable Nola-related blogs (yours included of course!!!) – am I way off base? I would have replied to him, but that would just start a flame war and I refuse to go into a battle of wits w/an unarmed soul as himself.
Dammit, I WANT to be there – but I want to be able to afford to live there somewhat comfy w/o being like I am here. Which is: 40+/work hours a week w/2 hours a day (one each way) commute, living away from the good stuff, and being too tired from the aforementioned 50+ hours to do anything but putter about on the ‘puter. I listen to WWOZ online and I swear I get frikkin’ MISTY at least once at each listening opportunity.
Sorry – I didn’t mean to rant…but I think you get the jist/gist of how I feel. And that is: I love New Orleans and I want the crime to be under control – the residents deserve as much considering all the post-Federal Levee Failure-related mess they have had to endure.)

Thanks for the link (sort of…). That’s just tragic. 6 folks shot in a short amount of time and three of them dead. WTF is going on? Do the powers that be really WANT to go ahead and cause New Orleans’ tourism and population to crumble and blow away so that they can clean up on the abandoned/low value properties and then make it over in the Disney image they want? A sanitized, uber-condo, uber-rich (dare I say, uber-white – except for the help from El Salvador?), exceptionally fake ‘version’ of New Orleans?
I just want to cry. I thought they were trying to kill the city w/the slow help after the Fed’l Levee Faiilure, but then gave up once folks really kept fighting for their homes and rebuilding.
Nope, looks like “they” are just changing tactics and letting the bad stuff get worse on its own and they will step in to clean up (financially) once the true citizens of New Orleans are dead or moved away because of how bad it (hopefully won’t) get.
Where do I sign up for the NOLA Army? (hmmm, that could be the N-ew O-rleans L-iberation A-ssociation?)
