create your own visited states map or check out these Google Hacks.

Thanks to a special Auntie I tried this out. These are all of the states I have visited. The ones I’ve missed… well here are the reasons:

The Northern Tier states- Just never got there… wanted to, but I pretty much stayed in the Snake River areas.

Oklahoma- Who cares?

N. Hampshire, Vermont and Maine- It’s a polarity thing concerning belief systems: I’m a New Orleanian, and they are… well, they are… True Yankees!

Connecticut- Too many money pigs and insurance companies for my blood. (Ex-bro-in-law has an “estate” there.)

The Carolinas- Charleston is someplace I’d like to see, but the rest is scary.

I’ve been talking to many more different “slices” of Life than I remembered. Maybe that’s why my world sometimes seems chaotic: all of us in this country are very similar, but we all have our own tweaks. We need to “get out of the house” more often and get to know folks from other areas. It just might just take the edges off our tweaks and maybe we won’t have so much friction between the regions.

UPDATE-  I forgot to explain about Alaska. I’ve been in the sound and the fiords in the panhandle, but I never set foot on the shores.

  1. Hey – watch what you say about Oklahoma. I’m from Ok….

Not really….I’m with you. Oklahoma – who cares!

But, I have you on this one. I’ve driven north from Dallas with a friend on an errand just to cross the state line and cross it off my list. Been there done that!

  2. I needed a “funny” for this post because I was in a very strange mood when I wrote it. I can name states that I have spent times in that would far worse than a “Who cares” description. Some of them I wished that it would only have been a quick trip to run an errand.
