Remember “Maine”

Just fuck me now. Yesterday  the Christa-fux voted to dis-allow Same-Sex Marriage in Maine even though it was approved by the Courts, the Legislature and the Govenor. The recognition of equal rights for all Americans was negated by a bunch of cross-wearing fools that hate lives like the one Betts and I have together. Their “religion” tells them that people like us are evil and do not deserve the Rights of being a couple and living a life together. (Same shit went down in California last year with Prop. 8.)

They have decided that they can have Rights not available to other Americans that they deem unacceptable.  People like me and mine don’t count in America. We are to be discounted as Human Beings. This is wrong.

I’m not a slave to a “burning bush”. I do not believe in a book written by Mid-Easterners from as far back as 3,500 BCE.  I am a well-educated person living in the 21st Century. I’m a scientist, an engineer and a retail manager. I know how to live in the Reality that I’m presented with.

I’m a tax-paying citizen of this country and a Veteran. I don’t over-tax the Social network because I do things on my own. How fucking dare you cross-wearing mooks deny me MY RIGHTS just because you or your holy book don’t agree with my life. (I’m not the one birthing 12 kids when I can’t pay for them)

I gave almost ten years of my life to defend this country and Her ideals. I defended your right to live your life even when I disagreed with your choices. Never, NEVER, would it be in my soul to deny you your desires or beliefs.  “Different strokes for different folks”.  What makes you better than me? What about your life outweighs the life I live? Nothing that I can see.

My life with Betty is one where we work our tushes off to support community and other efforts. We are people that believe that unless you are a criminal, just live your life. Your lives are like ours; choices. How do we differ?

I have a solution to this entire problem- we get rid of all special benefits for married couples. We eliminate all benefits for kids. Hey, we are all just individuals and none of us should get more goodies than another. And let’s get rid of the tax exemption for religious companies?Let’s level the playing field.

Can you see an equitable Future that I see?

So you fucking Christa mooks, take your filthy hands off of our lives. Do not attack us for our ways and we don’t come after you for being Stone-Agers.  Let me and mine live our lives in peace.

Me and mine will eventually have full equality in this land… you may not like it, but FUCK YOU.  We are citizens of the United States.

“The Dream will never die…”

Filed under: American Culture, Politicians, Sen. Edward Kennedy — Morwen Madrigal @ 11:22 pm

I am a Kennedy child. My parents were adamant supporters of the family and the Civil Rights movement. My early life was steeped in the words and sentiments that the various members of the Kennedy clan espoused.  The mold was made and my soul was poured into it.  The rest of my life would be lived in accordance to their teachings.

I remember the day JFK was killed. We were sent home from school without any word of what had happened. I found my mother crying next to the radio and she grabbed me in a desperate hold. She said that I must never forget what could be for our country. A few years later she and I repeated the same moment when Sirhan Sirhan killed Bobby. Three years later she would be dead at the age of thirty-four, but her words and inspiration never left me. I was a fucking Progressive pup, and I had to follow through to see the day that the Dream would become Reality.

And then there was Teddy. The scandal over Mary Jo bothered me, but during those years I learned that when one is drunk they don’t always notice details. People do make mistakes. Through the remaining years I came to respect the man who held the name Kennedy in our Congress. The Americans With Disabilities Act, the efforts to help people with HIV. The caring for Seniors and the little ones always grabbed me. These last few months when it finally seemed that he would achieve his desire for healthcare for all Americans felt to me like the crowning act of a person, who despite their position and wealth, lineage, always worked for little folks like me. Teddy was the real deal.

Three-something this morning, as I scanned my news feeds, I saw the notice of his death. I went through the same kind of feelings I had for Jack and Bobby, but this time I felt this event to be both a challenge and a promise, a further example of what this Nation was meant to be… a Nation of Equals.

Thank you Senator Edward Kennedy, Teddy in my mind. You continued the concepts of your brothers and broadened them into a philosophy for all people in this country. You are a great Spirit, and you will not be forgotten by those of us steeped in the ideas you promulgated. We are your kids, the Kennedy kids.

Teddy, here is my promise to your life and works; I will continue to fight the good fight for all people, even to my last breath. And as my Spirit leaves my corporal form, I will pass knowing that the Dream shall never die.

Dear America, Have a Happy Birthday!

Well Darlin’s this day makes Year 233 A.R. (After Revolution).  We all should be proud of the fact that somehow the strange collection of folks that have lived through those years managed to keep it all together (The War Between the States was a major blip on the screen…), and so much has been done by the people of this Nation. I can’t say by the Nation because the people are the Nation. It has always been up to citizens to create, build and advance our lives here and to provide for the ones to come.

I am proud to be an American.  I’m proud of the service I rendered in the Navy to help protect this country. But…  I am upset with the Government for the slow, and possibly non-existent rebuilding along the Gulf Coast after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike.  Many private people stepped up to the plate to help all os along the Coast out from the devastation, but the Government has been sorely lacking, especially for those of us in New Orleans who lost almost everything from the failure of the Federally  designed and built floodwalls and levees.  Betty and I lost 95% of our pasts and four years of our lives fighting to rebuild our little world. Many others have lost and they have yet to be able to get to the restoration point that we have reached. Along the Coast many of us feel as if America, the Government, has forgotten us.  We know that America the People didn’t.

The Church of Our Lady of Gentilly wishes many Blessings to the American People. Party hearty!

Dignity of All Life?

Filed under: American Culture, Inter/Trans-Sexed, Social Mores — Tags: — Morwen Madrigal @ 6:07 pm

Okay, Obama signals that he wishes that embryonic stem cell research can go forward and the religious freaks come out of the woodwork screaming about the “dignity of all Life”.

Where were the “defenders of Human Dignity” back in 1957 when MY person was violated for Societal norms? Did the cross-wearers protest to allow me to live within the constraints of my Nature-given form? Was I even asked if their manipulations to my tiny body was acceptable to what I desired for my life?

The answer is “NO”.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, called the expected announcement “a deadly executive order” and “a slap in the face to Americans who believe in the dignity of all human life”.

I repeat the question: “Where was the dignity for my Being?”.

The answer is- Morwen, you are a Teritology (monster), and since your Being what you are upsets our apple cart, we will remake you to fit our norms. Our Polar viewpoint of Life is violated by the appearance of such a creature as yourself. You had to be “fixed”, made “correct”.

Sorry Tony, your kind should have killed me when you had the chance. I survived, educated myself and then learned the truth about the horrors your predecessors visited upon my body and soul. I spent 13 years of nightmares every night that related to those “corrective” surgeries. Had to live through decades of a conflict of what my soul felt and the systems that fucks like you wish to perpetuate, all for your bat-shit belief system. Yes you motherfucker, I have been through Hell and back, and I ain’t going to stop now.

I want retribution, but I’m willing to accept an apology and the promise that your kind will no longer block our efforts to improve the lives of people afflicted with conditions that destroy their abilities to live a good life. I know this will never come.

My desire is to also witness the death of that filthy belief system that cast me and so many others into a living Hell. Following the “Word of God” did not give you permission to do what you did to me and mine. Many Humans are as Nature made them, and not even your “God” can contradict Nature.

But I digress… now we come to retribution.

Stem cell research is vital in our efforts to heal the living of so many problems- organ regeneration, nerve damage repair… the elimination of many horrible health disorders, and yet mooks like you decry these efforts in order to claim that your kind are defenders of “Human Dignity”. It’s time for your kind to STFU and vanish from the stage of Life. It’s over, and ya’s lost the war. Get over it.

Now you mis-begotten pieces of protoplasm claim to “defend” life. Yea right fuckmooks, it’s past time for you to truly do so.

Respect Nature’s actions. Honor Her possibilities and the healing of hurts that may come. Stop attempting to be “God”.

Even though your kind wears crosses, you have no control of the vertical or the horizontal. Nature is what it is, and you might stymie Her for a time, but there are those of us who will fight you in this. Humankind will always seek ways to heal and create better lives.

Get the Hell out of our way.

I was tortured so that their skewed vision of Humanity would not be troubled.

I AM trouble.

Another Toke Over the Line

Filed under: American Culture, Progressive News, Social Mores — Morwen Madrigal @ 1:07 pm

Ron Paul may be certifiable, but I do have to agree with him from time to time. This is from Raw Story and Real Time with Bill Maher.

I’ve already started writing about efforts to end the prohibition of Cannibus here. When I really feel like getting around to it, I’ll write about how a little green flower saved my life and ruined many a doctor’s night’s sleep wondering why yours truly didn’t die on their schedule. (I am a contrarian bitch)

City Charter Changes- Battle Lines Are Being Drawn/Racist Dawn

Note- (I’ve been very concerned about certain issues in the City that could prove to only deepen the divide between Black New Orleanians and the rest of us. There seems to be a form of “mentality” (termed loosely) that that expresses an air of “entitlement” which excludes all of those others that call themselves Natives or those who see our place as their home. As a descendant of Native French Creoles, Free People of Color, Haitians and Islenos, I am horrified.  As a defender of the United States’ Constitution and the Social Contract I am sick to my soul. Being a child of the Civil Rights Era and all that it promised, I am agast.

The Louisiana Ministerial Alliance of Churches for All People types desire to set up a reverse Apartheid in order to maintain their voice and control. Many of their churches own different types of property, some not in compliance with Law, but it can easily funnel monies into their coffers for their racist war.

This is not what was meant by “Equality”. This nowhere comes close to being a land where we all work together in order to promote the concept of living in Wholeness… )

I have been receiving the New Orleans Agenda for quite some time and could never really get anything much useful out of it. In fact, often I saw it as a racist attack on the non-Black folks of the city.

This came in today via the Agenda. Its an open letter to the Mayor-

Dear Mr. Mayor, Let ice water flow through your veins. You have learned many hard earned lessons about the ruthlessness of evil and you are fighting the good fight.
You are protecting the interest and power of a 60% African American electorate against an onslaught of temporary white power created by the elections right after Katrina. This four to three Confederate clique on the city council is an imbalance to the demographics of the city and an anomaly. It will never happen again. The “At large” seats will always be split, one black and one white. Districts B, C, D and E are all likely to return to African American control, but for the next two years you must preserve and defend your ability to insure participation of qualified DBE and African American owned companies in this recovery against this onslaught which is really about denying you that.
Trust that all across America, you are a wonder, and they are the clowns, even though local media which shares the white power agenda avoids touting the amazing work that you and your administration has done, even while under siege. The world is back in New Orleans, and they can see that we are extremely functional, and the cranes are rising.
Sometimes even folk in New Orleans East and the Lower Ninth Ward forget that in preserving their rights to return and rebuild you denied the white power move to turn “our space” into “green space” and you enraged those who didn’t want them back. In insuring the inclusion of the East and lower nine in the recovery, you created a greater challenge for your administration. It would have been easier and perhaps you would be better loved by the children of the Confederacy, but fortunately, your bold and courageous stand has maintained the rights of our people to return to their property and lifestyles and citizenship in our city, and that’s the part that makes the white power people stoop to these constant and petty attacks on your administration that have achieved nothing, except headlines.
If they don’t railroad you into letting them control the contracts, they know you will keep the door open for the development of real wealth and power in the hands of independent African Americans, like you did with the sanitation contracts, and that’s too much freedom (power) for the children of former slaves.
I also appreciate the fact that you cannot run for reelection, but are fighting for our interest anyway.
Lloyd Dennis”

(Lloyd Dennis has city contracts- via Big Red Cotton.)

This guy is a nutcase.
He sees the entire social equation of our city as a group of tribal organizations instead of a coalition of people living under the Social Contract. He wants to divvy up the various neighborhoods to different “tribes” as if the land belonged ONLY to one ethnic group. (the constant revenge killings are the logical outcome of just this sort of skewed thinking- tribal warfare)
I see this as a form of racial segregation from the very group that wished to not be seen as separate from the Whole circa 1955. It is a stepping backwards, not a moving forward. Segregation instead of desegregation. It can only lead to a condition of slow decline and stagnation.  In other words, they dig the ghetto deeper and thereby entrap the young from growth, exploration and expansion of their lives from that of the Past. These young will never be allowed to enter the 21st Century and the promises it makes for one to achieve their God/dess-given possibilities.

This will be the result if we cannot get the City Charter changed to a more equitable power sharing between the City Council and the Mayor’s Administration. For those of us with a more modern mindset the thought of living under a “tribal ruler” is abhorrent. It goes against the spirit of the Constitution. It is treason to the spirit of this country.

We have a derelict property problem and one of non-profit ownership of some properties that does not conform to Federal laws concerning use of said properties. Our society is being “used”.

They scorn and harm the LGBT tribes even though they are your children. They discard that little bit of their culture that actually attempts to achieve something beyond wherefrom they spring. They hate those who escape the mindless lockstep of a culture that is on the edge of the abyss when it comes to it’s demise. They hate the fact that their children chose freedom of thought over the banality of a dead culture.

And lastly for now, the Ministerial Alliance is now going after U.S. Rep. Joe Cao for his vote on the recent Stimulus Bill, even though there wasn’t anything of import for East New Orleans. This is not about the voting, but about the fact that the Ministerial crowd cannot continence the thought of a US Rep that is not Black. This is blatant racism, no question.

They wish a kingdom within the midst of a Republic… this cannot stand. They wish to be seen as Priest-kings ruling their little regions. That is not what this Republic is about. We have no Priest-kings, we have ourselves and our representatives to a government that is responsible to the All, the future and honor of an united Nation. None are left behind but those who choose to remain in the Past.

The Past is just that- the past. This is the 21st Century and it’s time to embrace the hopes and possibilities that are at hand. Living in the 19th Century no longer counts as “living”. We are a polyglot culture that can celebrate our commonality and the specifics that belong to our various cultures. We no longer must separate ourselves from the Whole.

Welcome to the new New Orleans.

Now tell me what you think please?

I Just Saw History

Filed under: American Culture, Barack Obama, Politicians, Progressive News — Morwen Madrigal @ 2:11 pm

Gentle Readers, I just watched the Inauguration of the 44th President of our Nation- Barack Obama.  His speech moved me to tears in that his words signaled the beginning to a new Progressive shift for our society as well as a validation of the Social Contract.

Today I witnessed the most important event in my life.  As a Progressive I was beginning to lose hope that our Country could get back on the path that was created in 1776. I was getting to the point that I would never live to see this day, but it did come… “Day shall come again.” Tolkien.

When George Bush entered the helicopter to take him away from D.C., Betts popped a bottled of champaign and we toasted the dawning of a New World.

Truly this is a Blessed day.

Reconstruct This…

Filed under: American Culture, Neo-Fascism, Religious Reich, Social Mores — Morwen Madrigal @ 3:14 pm

“I was talking ’bout the State of the Union, How there’s no one now in power thinking of me…”

Oops! There are people thinking about folks like me. They are “dom, dom dum dum”, the Christian Reconstructionists.  For some reason our Nation’s Constitution seems to be sorely lacking in their eyes, and they really have probs with those who just get on in their own groove. They are trying to use their monies to commit treason against our form of government and our vision of Life in the 21st Century. They despise the evolution of Humankind into self-realized, self-actualized beings. They wish to turn the clock back to a time when a camel was considered the only means of traveling.

I mean, do I desire to live in a sandy desert, with no phones or ‘puters? No escargot or sushi? No freakin’ way. Though our culture has it’s problems, it’s head and shoulders better then when folks pooped and peed into pots and then threw it into the streets. We have hot baths, and that is a blessing. We have machines that fly and boxes that cook food in minutes instead of hours, and creatures like these mooks want to drag us back into the Stone Age? Here’s some info on one of these mooks, and these asses, or this fool.

We the people have traitors in our midst.  These are creatures that have never sworn allegience to the miracle that is the American Promise. I, and many others have researched and guarded the gates against these enemies of the Modern World for decades. I personally have invested 30 years in keeping watch over these traitors. Back in ‘75 I swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States and Her citizens. That oath is binding . There is no going back.

These are people that oppose the doctrine of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. We are suppossed to goose-step to their tune. We must not let them win.

I Hope This Isn’t True, But I Believe It Is

Filed under: American Culture, New Orleans, Racism — Morwen Madrigal @ 11:19 pm

I’ve been hearing rumors about this, but someone like me, if the Nation publishes it, I must believe it.

There was similar shit like this after Camille hit the Mississippi Coast back in ‘69. It fit into things my father had to deal with as part of Civil Defense. (Same crap happened to us when he organized the garbage strike in Mobile.)

A rational person, or a good-hearted one, would assume that 40+ years after the Civil Rights Act was signed shit like this doesn’t happen.

No wonder my tribes face so much violence.

National Protest Against Prop 8

Filed under: American Culture, LGBT, New Orleans, Social Mores — Morwen Madrigal @ 4:08 pm

This Saturday 11/15, come and join the impact. All across America LGBT folks and their supporters will protest the removal of our Court sanctioned rights in California. The site gives you links to protests in your area.

For my Gentle Readers in the New Orleans area, go here. The event goes down at 1300 Perdido St, The New Orleans Courthouse, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Be there and not be square. This is about my tribes’ right to be treated equally under the Law. It’s about our rights as Human Beings.

We are all embarking on a journey to a new and more rational Society that started on November Fourth. Change is in the air. Please come and share your support for a portion of our culture that has been slapped down for the umpteenth time.
