As a member of the ‘media,’ I can tell you the story WWL reported was not accurate. The corpse sent us a release this afternoon claiming the person is a contractor hired by the corpse… and other than hiring the guy, they were not involved in the incident in any way.

The news release claims:

“Corps of Engineers leadership was suspicious of Miranda’s unlawful activity and informed the Army Criminal Investigations Division, who conducted the investigation leading to Miranda’s indictment. Miranda did not give confidential information to another Corps employee and no Corps employees were implicated in this matter.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has the highest ethical standards. The Corps trains all employees to comply with ethics rules and laws and does not tolerate unethical activity.”
